Art Gallery NSW

I bring Julia and Graham to the Art Gallery New South Wales, up bordering the Botanic Gardens.  Beautiful setting, grand old building befitting the main art museum of Sydney, cool mix of classic and contemporary architecture inside.  On the small side for a major metropolitan art museum I suppose, but I loved the collection.

The school holiday is still going on, so lots of great activities for the kids.

Entry hall.

Julia took a class on sculpture.

Graham and I wandered around together while Julia took her class.

Not sure what this was titled, but we called it The Rainbow Room.

Disturbing.

They had a tour around the museum for kids during Julia's class.  Graham begged me not to make him follow the robot lady around, so after forcing him to give it a try for a little while I finally released him.

At the far end of this hallway...

...was where Julia's class was concluding.

 Julia's masterpiece.

Graham's.

 A body in motion.

Gotcha!

Garden outside the cafe.

Look Mom, more sticks!

A rainbow lorikeet.

There was a Kandinsky-inspired magnetic cube for the kids to work on after the show.

Graham asked me to take a picture of him next to this.  So I did.

J is for Julia!

Just a little misty.  Was still a nice day to walk home, through part of the Botanic Gardens and then Hyde Park.

Why is it so hard to resist taking pictures in front of fountains??
