I’ve hit the gym sporadically but I just have not had the energy to push weights along with pushing strollers every day. However, I have been eating like I’m on vacation for the last TWO MONTHS. I think I may have gained 5 pounds just in Tim Tam molecules alone*. So I’m determined to at least start getting to the gym once in a while, even if it means dragging the kiddos along with me…
*Tim Tams, for those of you who don’t know, are the national cookie, er, biscuit, of Australia. I think they are on their flag. Oh wait, those are stars. Anyway, in the grocery store in our building, there is a row devoted to all the 300 varieties in which Tim Tams come: there’s the original chocolate (they’re basically a little rectangle of crunchy cookie wrapped in a candy bar coating of chocolate and a row or two of thin filling inside, very lo-cal!), white chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel, mint, etc etc. They’re tasty, or they were tasty, until I realized that it was the only cookie they sell, and have been eating them since arrival. I have a major sweet tooth, so in America I’ve figured out ways to satisfy it without a gargantuan calorie count, like bite size cookies and the like, but here it was basically Tim Tams or bust. And busting out I am!
